So thrilled to own #151/500 of this book. Emmet Byrne & Michael Aberman designed a delightful “box set” of a catalog.
Emmet Byrne’s recent Alec Soth catalog is also a terrific catalog design (similarly thrilled to own a copy of that one, as well).
Living with an Alec Soth fan pays a lot of dividends in the book design department!

Initiated by Jan Willem Renders, the exhibition ‘E’ven schilderijen’ was focusing on thirty contemporary painters from Eindhoven. For the book we focused on the different formats of the painting. Usually it is hard to get a grasp of the size of a painting when you see a reproduction. All paintings were represented in scale drawings with specific structures displaying the painting medium and carrier.
Fascinating online exhibition catalog on the way that we read/skim/scan in print vs. onscreen. Ironically, I haven’t had time to really sit and read it contemplatively. Can I blame that on the fact that I was reading it onscreen?

The dematerialization of art exhibition catalogs!
Design by David Reinfurt for the Corcoran:
“Design of a website that replaced the catalog as a record of this exhibition of 14 contemporary artists. The website, included physically in the show, was live for three months. During that time, the website tracked unique visitors and automatically constructed (drew) itself based on this total (one line per unique website visitor).
Shown are images of the website on sequential dates with increasing numbers of unique visitors.”
